For 2024, Volkswagen completely overhauled the interior with premium materials, made high-end tech features standard, and introduced a more powerful, efficient turbocharged engine that replaces the previous V6 across the entire lineup.
The SE with Technology trim acts as the undisputed volume leader and sweet spot of the Atlas lineup, layering highly requested convenience and styling upgrades onto the well-equipped base model.
Upgraded Turbocharged Performance
Engine: New 2.0L Turbocharged Inline 4-Cylinder engine.
Output: 269 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque (delivering nearly identical horsepower to the old V6 but with a wider, punchier torque curve for better acceleration).
Transmission: 8-speed automatic transmission.
Drivetrain: Available in standard Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) or optional 4MOTION All-Wheel Drive.
Towing Capacity: Up to 5,000 lbs (standard on SE w/ Technology due to the inclusion of a factory trailer hitch), matching the capability of the outgoing V6.
